As a certified system operator, we offer free collection of used batteries from all collection and return points in Germany. Our goal: to conserve valuable resources and guarantee transparent, environmentally friendly recycling nationwide.
Who can participate in the free battery take-back program?
Our service is aimed at all parties who are obliged to take back batteries in accordance with the EU Battery Directive or who offer this service voluntarily:
- Retailers: In accordance with Art. 62 EU Battery Directive.
- Voluntary collection points: Schools, associations, and companies (Art. 67 EU Battery Directive).
- Public waste disposal authorities: Authorities or authorized third parties (Art. 66 EU Battery Directive).
- Treatment facilities: Initial treatment facilities for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and end-of-life vehicles.
The ECOPV service package for collection points
We make legally compliant disposal as easy as possible for you:
- Free containers: Provision of suitable, ADR-compliant collection containers.
- Free collection: Free transport by certified logistics partners.
- Maximum safety: Safe transport and high-quality recycling in accordance with Articles 70 & 71 of the EU Battery Directive and BattDG (§§ 11, 23).
- Support: Provision of information and safety materials for your team.
Safety, environment, and resource conservation
All processes at ECOPV comply with the ADR regulations for the transport of hazardous goods. The collected used batteries are sorted according to chemical systems and recycled professionally. In this way, we are working together to increase collection rates (§ 13 BattDG) and return valuable raw materials to the material cycle.
