Urgent Notice from BDO Office
According to the current Polish regulations on electrical equipment, batteries, and packaging materials, Polish authorities require companies applying for Battery registration to also submit Packaging registration at the same time.
Recently, regulatory authorities have identified a large number of false applications during the review of Battery registrations. Many clients registered solely to meet Amazon’s minimum requirements in an attempt to quickly obtain a BDO number.
As a result, the Marshal’s Office of BDO has issued an urgent notice: Companies applying for Polish Battery registration must also supplement their application with Polish Packaging registration materials. If the Packaging registration materials are missing, the existing Battery registration application will not be processed, and companies will not receive an officially assigned BDO registration number.
Is Having a BDO Number Enough?
If you have obtained a Polish BDO registration number, you must include this number on all relevant business documents, such as VAT invoices, receipts, sales contracts, reports, waste transfer forms, and registration sheets.
Additionally, you must comply with the authorities’ requirements by submitting data declarations on time and paying environmental contribution fees.
Reminder and Recommendation
For sellers in the European market, since most sellers introduce batteries or WEEE products into the Polish market along with packaging, it is necessary to simultaneously register for the Packaging with the Polish authorities.
