Mandatory labeling of electrical and electronic equipment

1. Identity of themanufacturer*

 

 

 

 This can be done by specifying:

  • the name
  • the brand name
  • the trademark
  • the registered company number or
  • other suitable means of identifying the manufacturer

 

 

 

* Regardless of the option chosen, it must be noted in the manufacturer’s register in accordance with Article 12 (1) of Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) of the member state. In addition, the manufacturer must specify which marking they wish to use when registering.
The marking identifying the manufacturer must be indicated directly on the product.

2. Date of placing on the market

 

 

 

This can be done by specifying:

  • the date of manufacture/placement on the market in unencrypted text
  • the date of manufacture/placement on the market in encrypted text known to the treatment facilities
  • the date of manufacture/placement on the market by marking with a filled bar under the symbol of the crossed-out waste bin *

 

 

 

 

* According to DIN EN 50419, the height of the bar must be at least 1 mm. In addition, the bar may only be used in conjunction with the crossed-out waste bin and may not contain any text or other information.
